September 16: Under Armour Eastside 10k

Sarah Inglis and Geoff Martinson win the Under Armour Eastside 10K

Geoff Martinson cruised to a comfortable victory in 30:00 at this morning’s Under Armour Eastside 10k in Vancouver. Falkirk, Scotland's Sarah Inglis claimed a surprise win in 33:45 in a thrilling women's race. A sold-out record crowd of 2,800 runners toured historic Gastown and the streets of Eastside Vancouver under sunny skies and perfect 13 degrees Celsius weather. …more at canadarunningseries.com

June 25: Scotiabank Vancouver Half Marathon

Kangogo & Tessier take tactical wins at 2017 Scotia Half

Lethbridge’s Kip Kangogo (65:35) and Toronto’s Lyndsay Tessier (77:00) raced to emphatic victories in the 19th edition of the Scotiabank Vancouver Half marathon, presented by Asics, ahead of 4,229 participants this morning. May 22: Oasis Shaughnessy 8k

Speedy Kenyans steal the show, but hundreds bask in Sunday's fun Shaughnessy spotlight

On a brilliant Sunday morning, nearly 200 runners gathered in front of Kerrisdale Arena for one of the more challenging runs on the B.C. road race circuit. The host Lions Gate Road Runners, who have been promoting the sport since 1971, attracted some of the finest runners in the country in the likes of Kimugul, Jonathon Chesoo, Benard Koske, Gladys Tarus, Christian Gravel, Robyn Mildren, Sabrina Wilke and Bilal Shamsi. …more at vancouversun.com

April 2: BMO Sunshine Coast April Fool's Run

Record Number of Participants as Kimugul and Murage win 40th BMO April Fool's Run

The 2017 BMO Sunshine Coast April Fool's Run presented by Coast Cable was the largest in the event's long-running history. March 18: BMO St Patrick's Day 5k

Proudfoot and Pidhoresky Prevail at St Patrick's Day 5K

The competition lived up to the hype Saturday morning, as Ross Proudfoot edged Luc Bruchet in a photo-finish at the St Patrick’s Day 5K, second race in the 2017 BC Super Series. And Dayna Pidhoresky demonstrated she is fully recovered from injury, to outlast the rising stars. …more at BC Athletics

January 15: Steveston Icebreaker 8k

Icebreaker attracts a fast, cool crowd in sunny Steveston

Christian Gravel of Vancouver won the race in an impressive 26:09, edging Coquitlam’s Brendan Wong to the finish line by five seconds. Jeremiah Ziak of Vancouver (26:23) and North Van’s Jeff Symonds (26:55) were third and fourth, respectively. The top woman was Sabrina Wilkie of Vancouver in 28:46. Runner-up Jen Moroz of Vancouver clocked in at 29:37, while Vancouver’s Jillian Fong was third in 30:26. …more at Vancouver Sun
